What's New for the 2019 Ford Mustang?
Ford gave the Mustang a thorough redesign for the previous model year, so buyers won't see too much tweaking, with one exception: the return of the limited edition Bullitt trim. The limited edition Bullitt will come in only two colors, namely Black and Highland Green with chrome accents.
Under the hood, it features a 5.0-liter V-8 engine with 475 horsepower and 420 lb.-ft. of torque paired with a six-speed manual transmission with white cue ball shift knob. Its active valve performance exhaust system with quad tips gives it a distinct sound. You'll get more power from this drivetrain thanks to free-flowing intake manifold that's larger, bigger throttle body and open airbox.
Inside, you'll find a 12-inch digital LCD instrument panel in an easy-to-read green font. Heated and cooled leather-trimmed bucket from seats is standard. Both front seats have six-way power controls. Recaro leather-trimmed seats with green stitching are optional.
The chassis of this trim includes the elements of the Mustang's Performance Package 1, including the front aero splitter. The reason for that is to make the Bullitt trim appear as close as possible to the iconic Mustang driven in the Steve McQueen movie of the same name, with modern updates, of course. This trim also features a unique front grille without the pony badge, a unique lower grille, pony projection lights, LED sequential taillights, daytime running lights and LED headlights with LED signature lighting.
For the Mustang GT coupe, 2019 also brings the return of the California Special, also for convertible models, that have visual cues that hearken back to the 1968 models. This version features a trademark fading stripe that runs down the sides from the badge back to the fender. A black and red script badge adorns the trunk. The front has a blacked-out open grille, along with five-spoke painted machine wheels. The interior features rich suede-trimmed seats, embossed insignia and red trim stitching, along with custom floor mats.
